Battenwear choose their Spring/Summer favourites

Such is our kudos in New York that when we’re not being name-dropped in Japanese by HRH Daiki Suzuki we’re busy dropping in on our top mates Shinya & Carrie at Battenwear. After riding some tubes with them down on Rockaway we then asked them to tell us all about some of their favourite pieces from their Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Which is exactly what they did and having seen the entire collection the rest of it is equally as fantastic, though I think I’m in agreement about that light shell parka, what a beauty.

The Light Shell Parka is the ultra streamlined, everyday version of the Battenwear parka. The raglan sleeves and inner mesh back-lining give it a sporty look while the 4-ply taslan nylon of the body is light, quick drying, and wind resistant.

The Correspondent Jac is a lightweight, high-count woven cotton poplin shirt-jacket inspired by classic travel and safari jackets but reinterpreted for a more everyday wear. While keeping its ultimate functionality (see the awesome shoulder blade pleats, multi-pockets, epaulets, etc), this is a jacket that screams out a laid-back cool.

Perennial Battenwear favorite, the Packable Anorak is back for SS15 in a wide range of amazing colors and fabrics including taslan nylon, a black ripstop, and Indian cotton plaids. As in the past, the Packable Anorak has great side seam pockets and a brimmed hood.

We loved our Golf Shorts from SS14 so much that we made them again for SS15. This season we included a coin pocket on the front. Both the Golf Shorts and Pants have a 1970’s disco pant feel with the front slanting pocket, but we promise there is no bell bottom action going on. The fit is slim, straight, and comfortable. The wallet pocket on the upper back thigh allows easy access to valuables.
