Clarks Originals x Herschel Supply Co Desert Boot

You’re going to be hearing a lot about the humble old Desert Boot over the coming year.

Next year marks the 65th anniversary of the birth of this ICON (definitely not hyperbole in this case), and to mark that fact Clarks Originals are reclaiming what is rightfully theirs and releasing some potential ‘goodies’ to celebrate.

There’ll be no putting out to seed like your great Uncle Alf in that Old Folks Home; instead THE most Classic of Classic shoe silhouettes is to be given new life.  Think, ‘Cocoon‘ and those 3 doddery old geriatrics who were suddenly rejuvenated by swimming in next door’s pool little knowing they were living next door to alien life forms. (There’s your night’s viewing sorted right there kids).

The Desert Boot will be metaphorically skipping around the block, not looking close to reaching for its pension book, and all the other Desert Boot pretenders will end up cowering in the shadows, scared of getting ‘the boot put in’ (*Hilton’s thoughts turn back to the old Maine Road Ground, and surrounding Rusholme / Hulme side streets of safety*)

To start the ball rolling Originals have got Herschel Supply Company, Canadian bag and accessories manufacturer, on board to have a go at putting their own mark on the boot.

Herschel have gone with a navy blue leather upper, dark denim heel patch, brass eyelets, leather laces and their own red and white striped inner lining.  All sitting above the plantation crepe sole that Clarks Originals are known for.
