For his latest collaboration with Converse it looks like Nigel Cabourn has taken a couple of pairs of 1970s Chuck Taylor All Stars and put them in a telepod but this time accidentally leaving one of his Camera-man jackets in there rather than Jeff Goldblum/a fly. Once the smoke cleared, two pairs of the iconic hi-top emerged from the second telepod with one in army green and the other in black navy with Ventile and Harris tweed uppers, bright orange lining (also made from ventile) and ‘fireman’ clip closures having magically appeared. Though David Cronenberg wasn’t there to capture the magic, the experiment was clearly a successful one and so the shoes go on sale today at The Army Gym on Henriette street as well as at cabourn.com.
