Whilst browsing the colour palettes for Sweden’s away shirt some Haribo Tangfastic-addled ‘designer’ obviously pulled-out the old 90’s phrase that the shirt should ‘look good with jeans’. Tbf whilst the effort probably would sit nicely with a pair of their compatriots Nudies, anyone wearing football shirts with jeans shouldn’t be reading this site. Adidas claim the shirt is engineered from ventilated Climacool with mesh inserts but it’s pretty obvious it’s made from the same material as Primark jeggings.
The grey/grey/navy blue colour-blocking is apparently a reference to ‘the young Swedish generation today’. The shirt is also accurately designed to match Zlatan’s mood as he realises he’s playing alongside Celtic’s Mikael Lustig.
For some reason it’s also got a Fjallraven logo on the sleeve, though Adidas insist this is actually the Swedish flag. In all fairness it’s a proper lovely shirt and further evidence that Adidas might win the kit game in France this summer (although we haven’t mentioned Germany or Wales away efforts yet).
The home shirt is yellow and blue and looks like every single kit Sweden have ever had ever.
