Fred Perry, Bradley Wiggins collection SS/12

For those of you currently following the epic sporting event that is the Tour De France, you’ll know that olympic legend and all round cycling legend Bradley Wiggins is doing rather well in the old pedalling stakes. So there’s probably no better time for his latest collaboration with Fred Perry to hit the streets. Given Brad’s genuine interest in all things mod as well as his choice of career, a collection of cool and colourful cycling jerseys couldn’t be a more appropriate choice of attire. Perhaps Brad himself puts it best when he says:

“It’s a partnership I could only have dreamed of…..I have been a lifelong fan of the brand, stemming from my following and commitment to the mod movement and what I believe is Fred Perry’s unparalleled relationship with subculture. My goal has been to develop an authentic, non technical range of off cycle wear that is inspired by the best of the sport’s unique heritage – something I am hugely passionate about. Fred Perry offered me that opportunity.

I’ll never forget the buzz when I first heard that Fred Perry were interested in working with me and since we’ve started work it’s clear that I’m going to have the chance to execute many of my and collaborate on some great ranges in the coming seasons.”

For the first instalment of this six season deal, the mr Wiggins has worked closely with the design team to develop the classic cotton pique shirt in 3 classic colourways- white, black and sky blue. He has also added unique details taken from the vintage cycling jerseys worn by legends of the past. The jerseys all come complete with ‘GB tape’ around the neckline, feature retro metal zips and his signature ‘Bradley stripe’ around the tip of the sleeves. It makes us want to put the Kinks on and get our old Claud Butlers out…

The collection is available in all Fred Perry Authentic shops and from:
