Being the proud Stopfordians that we are Fred Perry is someone we’re rather fond of here at Proper and so we’re rather impressed that his clothing legacy appears to share some of the same fashionable friends as our humble magazine. For the second Friends of Fred project the label has comissioned a contemporary yet mod-ish outfit by collaborating with some of our favourite labels. Starting with the classic Chukka boot from Yorkshire brand Alfred Sargent, paired with one of our favourite pair of jeans ever the LVC 1967 505s (as well as some rather nice cord-y sta-prests), moving onto the top half we have a rather smart merino wool ‘Dorset’ sweater from Derbyshire’s very own John Smedley all topped off with the black ‘Kadet’ coat from Garbstore, a shining example of classic British tailoring and Ian Paley’s genius. Smart idea, smart clothes, smart label.
