Happy Mondays – kickin’ Chico’s cancer

We’ve gone a bit Happy Mondays daft on here this week. First it was the rather brilliant new book coming out soon and now the Manchester legends are to perform a special full live set at the ‘Chico’s Kickin Cancer Fundraiser’, this Friday night (October 17th) at The Palace Hotel in Manchester.

The unique’Black Tie dinner’ event is to raise much-needed funds for Chico, the son of Mondays Bass player Paul Ryder, Chico’s ongoing treatment with donations also being made to Christies cancer hospital.

The one off, intimate show also brings together Haçienda cohorts Peter Hook & Graeme Park, poet Mike Garry for the an event that will mix VIP’s, celebrities and the great and good and feature a VIP reception, a sumptuous four course dinner and wines alongside an aftershow party.

Chico, 12, from Salford, is currently undergoing treatment in Los Angeles – with dad and Happy Mondays bassist Paul Ryder – for rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer.

Some tickets are still available and all the details for the event are here chicoskickincancer-com.webs.com/. Get down if you can for what promises to be a unique and amazing night.
