THE COMPETITION HATH ENDED! WE HAVE A WINNER!

Thanks for entering everyone, the lucky winner has been picked, congratulations to Mark from Eastleigh, who’ll be getting hisMastrum Sniper jacket very soon. Keep your eyes peeled for more competitions coming soon.

Our new mate Mark, looking forward to some stylish Snipering.

To help celebrate two great things that are happening in mid-November, i.e. the arrival of Proper Mag issue ten and the launching of MA.STRUM’s online shop. Our good friends over at Mastrum have given us this amazing sniper jacket (with wool liner R.R.P. £675) to give away to one of you very lucky readers. Anyone who knows their stuff will be familiar with this relatively new label who are faithfully carrying the ‘innovative outerwear’ torch originally lit by creative legend/genius Massimo Osti. Creating some amazing clothes we’re sure the maestro would approve of.

To be in with a chance of winning this amazing jacket, you need to do two things:

Firstly, you need to sign up for the MA.STRUM newsletter here: www.mastrumonline.co.uk

Secondly, you need to post a comment below stating your jacket size and also the name of the best piece of outerwear you’ve ever owned.

The lucky winner will be announced in two weeks.  Keep up to date on the label here:

  2. Hi … medium size if selected.

Please dont tell me i missed the comp… my favorite jacket is my parker… blue, mint condition with brown lining in hood. The only thing is my mate has a ma.strum field jacket, blue and proper mint with liner too and wrist view finder!!. The problem is he takes the piss out of me so to win this sniper jacket would be the best news i have given him in a long time.

    Cheers matt

  3. large for me

would have to be the first decent jacket i bought late 80s i think it was schott blue made of material that you could burn with a fag end which ive had many decent clother ruined before the ban came in

  4. Ned Gredic

Size XL if i am the lucky one.
An old black hooded stone island is my favourite at the moment.

  5. Best outer wear you say? A blue leather bikers jacket bought in Freshmans second hand shop in Sheff, it cost a tenner and it kept me warm and dry and was a makeshift cover/sleeping bag/flying glass protector during the 6 years or so I shlepped around the UK and Europe as a member of countless bands. The fact that it was blue made it stand out, I lost it in a club once and when I found it it was splattered in paint, blue paint though so it was meant to be, made it look even cooler. It had countless zip pockets for various stashes of on the road survival equipment, it had a burgundy lining covered in grime and the label simply said ‘Wolf Leather’ with a crap picture of a wolf. I always keep two ticket stubs in the pockets, one in each front lower pocket, one for the Motorhead 30th Anniversary tour at Manchester Apollo and one for a Sparks concert in Salford. That way if it ever gets lost the new owner knows it comes from a good home. It doesn’t get much of an outing these days, last trip out was Queens of The Stone Age/Guns n Roses at Leeds festival, my jacket pissed all over Axl’s effort of a wardrobe and set. It now lays dormant in the attic room smelling vaguely of teenage piss thrown in pint pots and Lambert and Butler smoke.

Make mine a medium, nice coat that.

  6. Rhys Thorne

Size Medium if I am the lucky one please..

The best piece that I have owned is a One True Saxon Sample parka in a sand colour, has about 20 pockets and loads of cool detailing.

  7. Gareth Spavin

    Size medium,

Had an awesome wool Henri Lloyd which lasted me about 8 years but the best jacket I ever had my hands on was an old inspector gadget style flasher mac that I found floating on the wind across our school field when I was about 13. The coat was shite but it had a couple of old screwed up pages from a porn mag in the pocket. A right result at that age and a truly memorable jacket.

  8. Fjellsikker

    Size Medium I guess.

Since they’re saying it’s going to be the coldest winter in a thousand years I think I have to go with my Swedish dark green military “coma coat” parka . Very big, very warm and very cheap. And stylish in a mod kind of way.

  9. Getcarter

    Medium Please

My Favourite i own is CP Company Dynafil Mille Miglia Jacket

  10. admin

Good call Fenlander, very Dead Man’s Shoes

  11. Fenlander

Size large please – had a really ‘unlucky’ week – traffic fine out of nowhere, sat on and smashed an Ebay item I had just sold for big bucks, lost some very sentimental family photographs – winning this jacket would take away the pain that’s for sure!
Much as I love my various Stone Island and the excuisite Ma-strum Torch the best jacket ever has to be an original 1960’s olive green US Army M65. I don’t think there’s been a time when I haven’t had at least one of these for the last 20 plus years. Look at the design details and consider how many jackets you have seen over the years that have found their inspiration from this classic style. Even the great man made reference to the styling of the M65. I can wear one of these jackets anywhere, dressed up over a suit – why not? and dressed down for the most mundane tasks – it’ll keep me looking good!
Keeping my fingers (and anything else I can find) crossed.

  12. I’m XXL in the Ma Strum I bought so far so I’d like that size if Im the lucky one…

Best jacket ever, oh so many worth a mention. I am loving the S/S torch blue field jacket still at the mo. My fav mille would get a shout too, as would my best Left hand. All time favourate, maybe the Osti Levi ICD collaberation (now sadly departed and I still miss it). Some great stoneys too in the past. Like Mastrum and Garbstore Mountin prov parka II at the mo. It is a great question.

  13. M in the Sniper please…

Best jacket owned from me ‘i think’ would be the CP Company Grey Tinto mille Miglia.Excellent material and looked better with age and wear.

  14. XL jacket for me if I am lucky enough to win it.

My favourite jacket would be my Maharishi over the head Cagoul. Excellent quality and some brilliant detailing.
Also well impressed with a recently purchased Albam Trail Parka.

  15. Paul Roper

    I will need an XL

    Norrøna Forelhogna jacket

  16. A size L for me please…

Best piece of outerwear has to be my vintage Fjallraven Greenland jacket which my dad bought in the 70’s.
Still wearing it and still goes strong with the Greenland Wax on it.

Definitely the best item I ever had.

  17. Size xl- best jacket would have to my penfield down jacket

My favourite jacket is a Bedale from Barbour.

  21. Casualspotter

Size L for me in MA Strum cheers. Best outwear for me is either Barbour Bedale – classic bit of waxed perfection from Northumbria, Garbstore Mountain Providence Parka in tan – I love wearing that jacket especially with a Bob Weir bobble hat or for old times sake my Lime Green CP Mille Miglia – happy times and still gets popped on for days when I need cheering up. Always teamed wth a pair of Clarks Oberons – comfort and style personified from the best shoe makers in the country.

  25. Size small please!

Gotta be my beloved and much worn CP Mille Miglia, in the perfect olive / khaki colour. It’s got a detachable lining so it’s on my back summer or winter, it’s been around the world with me, it’s seen many a gig and it’s always a talking point wherever I go in it!!

  26. Morgan Anderson

The jacket size that i would like if im succesful is a size medium, and the best outdoor jacket ive ever owned is a Henri Lloyd glass jacket, top jacket!

  27. A large if I’m the lucky one.
My favourite alltime favourite jkt was my black Stone Island two piece toffee wrapper bought from John Anthony on Shaftsbury Ave, London 1993.

  28. the best jkt i have ever owned is the ma.strum sniper jacket! send size large quickly please its getting cold!!
    thanks
    lee

  29. I’m a medium thanks to recent uncontrolled weight gain.

My favourite piece of outerwear is without doubt a brown, vintage leather jacket, heavy on the lapels which I brought in the early 90’s the day after watching Saturday night fever. Over the next ten years it moulded itself perfectly to my body shape and never left my side. Sadly it started to fall to pieces and my ever lasting memory is seeing it dumped in the bottom of my parents’ rubbish bin. It only occured to me years later that I could have had it repaired, or at least held on to it so I could look at it from time to time and smile.

    RIP lil’ fella…

  30. SCOTT WALKER (velvetnsteel0)

size L, in the sniper jacket please!!

best peice of out wear would be ither my barabour metallic international or my 06 ceramic mille miglia in grey, topped off with a pair of OTS jeans, adidas spezials(brown), victorinox polo(white), CP hooded sweat shirt in red, penfield bobble hat & M&S alfred moon scarf
