EXTRA SOUND by Neuron Pro Audio

After the roadblock dinner-dancehall that was the Clarks in Jamaica party back in November, we decided it was only right to run the session again… under the new name BEST DRESSED CHICKEN IN TOWN (with respect to the Dr).

THE DINNER DANCE
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Same as last time, Ashley Beedle will be DJing but also getting his apron on and serving up his street-soul food recipes. Chicken, rice & peas, coleslaw and, most importantly, Beedle’s secret recipe jerk sauce.

THE BASHMENT BINGO
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
More of a ragga raffle really… everyone who buys a dinner on the evening gets entered into a prize draw. Up for grabs we have 5 pairs of Clarks Originals, as well as bags of records, DVDs and mixtapes from Ninja Tune, Girls Music and The Heatwave.

Once dinner’s done we’ll be calling out winners every half hour. There are only 100 dinners / raffle tickets on sale so the odds of winning are pretty decent.

Playing alongside Ashley Beedle will be Bobby Irish (Hotmilk). Expect the full spectrum of Jamaican music, from rocksteady to ragga, bashment back to bluebeat, with an added touch of laser soul and boogie-funk.

Extra sound with be brought on for the night.

*Please note*

The last event was a roadblock, with a one-in-one-out queue by 7:30 so we advise you get down early, especially if your eating. Entry is free — dinner is £7. Limited numbers of advance tickets that guarantee entry and a dinner / raffle ticket will be available from Soup Kitchen and Oi Polloi prior to the event, details on this to follow.

It’s a bank holiday the next day so make it a date and don’t be late.
