Okayama Jeans from Mamnick

No matter what the boot-cut wearing populous would try to have us believe; if you’ve taken the time out to read these pages then you ‘know’ as well as we do that in this day and age there can be absolutely no reason at all to swan about in bad denim.

But my god, a few people and by that I mean bloody tons of them, still do. Overly wide hems, fakely faded to within an inch of their lives, gratuitously stupid stitching…you know EXACTLY what and whom I’m getting at here.

In fact if you went in any pub showing the rugby up and down these fair shores last weekend you’d have seen an abundance of ‘em. It’s not a direct correlation that if you refer to The Home Of Rugby as ‘Twickers’ then you’ll be wearing dodgy denim, but the likelihood that you’re in need of upping your jeans game is a strong one.

Mamnick is one brand out there putting the effort into denim, so’s you don’t have to. Thom, head honcho of the brand, has managed to pretty much tick all the boxes of Trouser Top Trumps.

Made in Okayama Japan of 14oz raw red selvedge denim, they’re a hard wearing pair of slim cut jeans, that are crying out for a bit of strong loving and wearing in. Produced in limited numbers, to the highest spec – with Mamnick engraved rivets and buttons, as well as a leather label and Chambray lined pockets with repeated bicycle pattern; I’d even let you off wearing an opened necked rugby shirt, if it was along side these…..
