Stan and Ray may sound like a couple of greying fellas who nod to each other in the betting shop, but if you’re barking up that tree, you’re going to end up with egg on your face.
Stan Ray is one of those brands that emerges from time to time and you think “How has this existed for so long and I’ve not found it before?”
It’s full of heritage (with a small ‘h’) and genuine provenance. Hard wearing and used by people for hard work for over 40 years, Stan Ray is named after the son of its founder. Still made in the USA and privately owned, the brand supplied military uniform until the 80s, which is always a good sign.
Simple, functional, durable and versatile, they make my new favourite trousers. And in this collab with high street big hitters Urban Outfitters, it won’t be long before you start seeing Stan Ray gear popping up in a few more places. Maybe even the betting shop.
