Stone Island Presents Manchester

If you were lucky enough to get tickets to last week’s Stone Island event at Granada studios then perhaps like me you’re now the proud owner of some Stone Island plastic pint pots and beer tokens as well as a very special t-shirt. Following on from previous outings in London and Glasgow Stone Island Presents came to Manchester and hooked up with the Warehouse Project to provide the city with a truly memorable night out. In a fittingly expansive space the crowd got to sees Detroit DJ Omar S and UK talent Joy Orbison and Kirk Degiorgio up on the ones and twos whilst surrounded by a number of genuinely beautiful visual projections of the S.I. logo.

Whilst it was a very well put together event, full of well dressed and well mannered people in an amazing setting, the real cherry on the cake for me was the aforementioned t-shirt. These black and white limited edition tees were made to celebrate Stone Island and Manchester having a great big rave up together the profits from which all went towards the We Love Manchester Emergency fund. Which was perhaps what urged me to grab Stone Island’s head honcho Carlo Rivetti by the toilets and offer him a big warm welcome to the city in the best Italian I could muster, to which he replied “Amo il Machester“. A top bloke, a top line up from a top label = a top time.
