Stone Island SS16 Lookbook

If you’re as keen on camo and as obsessed with Osti as us, you’ll have already seen this. But we’ve been dead busy pretending to be grown ups the last couple of weeks, so we kept forgetting to put this on the site.

There was a time about a decade ago when I had a few pieces of Stone Island but for one reason or another, the Rocco McCasual connotations sort of put me off. It was and still is great stuff, but back then wearing it at the football was like saying “Punch me in the face” or if you were lucky “Arrest me and treat me like scum, officer”.

Thankfully, the aforementioned growing up now has me exceptionally comfortable with the brand. I’ll wear it wherever, whenever, to quote Shakira. It’s never been more popular than it is now. I’ve no figures to back that up, but come on… you’ve only got to walk through any town or city centre to see people navigating their way along the street while sporting the compass patch. And yet, it’s still far from mainstream. It’s not like it’s suddenly going to appear on the radar of your cousin who usually dresses like Shane Richie, or worse still this bloke.

So in summary, this summery lookbook features several pieces I’d happily wear, despite the risk of getting legged down the street or having my collar felt. I’ve tried to come up with some snappy soundbite to described it, but I can’t quite connect the dots. That’s probably a good thing.

  1. Depends how you define mainstream. It’s hardly Superdry.

  2. Far from main stream are you joking!
I’ve even seen tramps wearing it!
