The Grenfell ‘Walker’ Jacket

One of the greatest items of clothing to re-emerge back onto ‘the scene’ in recent years has without a doubt been Grenfell’s ‘Walker’ jacket (cheers for that Oi Polloi). An item of clothing that might look strangely familiar to you nature buffs out there as it’s a firm favouriteĀ of David Attenborough and was his preferred attire when hanging out with gorillas in the 70/80s. The Walker is synonymous with the iconic English brands who started off in Lancashire back in 1923 creating garments for modern adventurers, golfers and film stars from their very own, densely woven, water repellent wonder cloth. For this season the ‘New Walker’ has been re-cut in more contemporary and flattering proportions with additional bellow and lower zip pockets in their original shape added. As well as this classic olive version the Walker also comes in a cavalcade of different colours including a head-turning ‘Hawaiian camouflage’ version that puts me in mind of those tremendous Japanese style camo M-65 jackets that CP did about 15 years ago. Arriving very soon, the new version of the Walker provides the perfect combination of contemporary vibes and classic style.
