What we have here is a book that strikes the perfect balance between education and entertainment or edutainment as I like to call it. In Laurence King’s latest ‘This is‘ series they’ve focussed on prolific architectural legend Frank Lloyd Wright whose eventful life was equally incredible as any of his monumental buildings. As with previous editions the book is presented in a fittingly architectural way,with detailed info-graphics helping to illustrate the autobiographical text offering the reader a literal look into Frank’s life. This is an ideal book for anyone like me who despite the best intentions finds their eyes starting to stray from the pages of any remotely kind of informative book if the words aren’t accompanied by some killer imagery. Massive props to Ian Volner and Michael Kirkham for making a grown up book that works for people with short attention spans.
