I once described TukTuk’s shirts to their owner as being both proper brilliant and cheap enough for me to get an addiction. He thanked me for seeing his brand as the clothing equivalent of crack cocaine. To be honest, I still don’t know if he was pissed off or not.
This was back when I was buying as many of their crazy madras checks as I could.
Now, as part of their Spring/Summer 2015 collection, they are introducing the Agnew shirt; a wardrobe staple which is going to be on the TukTuk roster indefinitely. New seasons will see new colours and fabrics being introduced but it comes first in a classic blue or white oxford, with corduroy versions to follow in the Autumn.
If what got me into this brand were lively, crack cocaine-esque patterned shirts, these sensible Agnews are a little more developed and long lasting. Something that you’ll keep turning to, day to day, year after year.
Like a full blown heroin habit.
