Blue Flowers have linked up with a musical partner to produce a duo of jackets. If you can read, which we’re assuming you can if you’ve clicked on this, or even found our website for that matter, you can see that the musical partner is The Libertines.
The Manchester based menswear brand have worked closely alongside the band to produce both a bomber jacket and a trench coat.
Carl Barat & Pete Doherty each selected a jacket to work on with Blue Flowers and you’ll win no prizes for guessing who took the job of the trench coat.
Doherty’s own personal artwork features in a repeat print on the inside of the trench’s lining.
Barat’s own personal artwork does not feature in a repeat print on the inside of the bomber’s lining, as far as we know he’s not any kind of artist other than a music artist.
On the inside of both of the jacket’s is a patch that pays tribute to the Margate based hotel turned recording studio, the Albion Rooms, where the band are currently operating from since their semi-reformation.
Mark Kendrick, founder of Blue Flowers, said about the collaboration: “This project with The Libertines made complete sense. Their nod to culture from yesteryear aligns with everything we are about. The band had lots of great ideas that we’ve worked into both designs.”
The collection / capsule / pair of jackets is available to pre-order from the Blue Flowers site here.
