Gramicci & and wander present second cult collaboration instalment

You know that notion that sequels are never as good as the original thing? Yeah, that rule doesn’t apply for this.

Gramicci & and wander have partnered up for a second time to produce another instalment of lovely-looking jackets, trousers, fleeces and more.

The collection between the two outdoor brands predictably draws inspiration from rock climbing, but more specifically the climbing scene of the 1970s – an era when rock climbing was beginning to make its way into the public eye. As climbing began to get its footing in the outdoor sports smorgasbord, this brought about innovations in the clothing worn for the sport. Basically, instead of just finding the most hard-wearing thing possible, there was now gear designed to accommodate for the movement and high levels of friction unique to climbing.

In this FW24 collection, the two brands have worked together to build on traditional climbing apparel, producing a range of progressive and detail-led boulder-ready clothing. There’s a diverse range of pieces adorned with autumnal orange hues and camouflage patterns.

Out of all the individual items themselves, there’s one that really gets us going. Yes, obviously it’s the big orange coat. The jacket features reflective detailing that’s become synonymous with and wander, as well as two vertical chest pockets alongside two hefty-looking hand warmer pockets. This thing looks to be a toasty number, we don’t make the rules, but big jackets in orange always look the best and warmest, something about the colour just cranks the cosiness levels up a notch.

Looking towards the other items in the collection, there’s a duo of camouflage vests, one’s puffy and the other is fleecy, with both looking ideal for dressing as a techy rock climbing huntsman. There’s also an entourage of legwear on offer – arguably the most important part of your outfit when climbing. Can you imagine holding onto a few centimetres of rock whilst wearing denim, we can, and it doesn’t seem pleasant. All the trouser offerings in this collection look to be spot on though, and they come with those adjustable belts – we like them.

A few final things worth mentioning about the collection is there are some nice accessories – chalk bags, a puffy carrier bag, and best of all, a bucket hat with ear flaps, can’t really understand why more of these don’t exist.

The collection will available to shop from here on Friday, 4th of September.
