You know those blokes that knock about wearing wellies, long coats and drinking ale? They look a bit like a traditional Barbour customer and usually have silly names like Jonty or Barty. Yeah, they can be quite unbearable to be around, but you can’t help but appreciate their quilted jackets and fleeces even if they have been dowsed in a healthy smattering of mud and cow feces.
The issue for us is that while we can appreciate that farmer-y sort of clobber, we wouldn’t get away wearing it without being pulled up on it immediately. This is why we have such a love for Fera, it blends that country life aesthetic with a more rugged American workwear one, meaning you can wear quilted jackets and fleece gilets without the risk of being called a ponce.
Fera’s latest collection is much of the same of the winning formula we’ve just cited. It’s titled ‘Made to Last’ and incorporates all of the best things about the British outdoors – pubs, long walks, quilted stuff, and collared jackets.
The collection, called ‘Made to Last,’ is respective of Fera’s no-frills or intricacies approach to producing outerwear, the collection hasn’t just been coined this for the construction of the garments though, but also for the timeless silhouettes selected which have been worn for generations.
Those timeless silhouettes include a quilted jacket & gilet, alongside a couple of fleecy numbers and a lovely canvas workwear jacket – all looking perfectly suitable for cruising down a country road in a battered 4×4. There are also a couple of nice T-shirts, one with all kinds of mushrooms on it, which is ideal for diverting certain kinds of stereotypes you might encounter when wearing a quilted jacket.
The collection is set to launch on Friday, 20th of September, here.
