The latest thing that has landed on our lap combines two of our favourite things. Clothes and food. No, it’s not clothes made out of food, or vice versa, it’s a collaboration between Dickies and a Berlin food hotspot called Ember.
We’re pretty sure that you know who Dickies are, but if like us, you weren’t aware of Ember here’s a bit of context. Essentially it’s a restaurant that specialises in wood-fire cooking, it’s got a nice rooftop area and a bit of a cult following by the looks of things. They focus on sourcing fresh, hyper-seasonal ingredients to produce the finest grub about, they then serve it on giant communal tables. We’re thinking it’s a bit like Oktoberfest but for chargrilled food.
As you can imagine, working on an open fire all day brings its own trials and tribulations that banging something in the oven doesn’t, namely embers hopping out and scorching your clobber. That’s where Dickies come into this.
The brand has worked alongside the chefs and staff at Ember when producing their AW24 workwear range, the fruits of their labour are gear that can withstand the demands of the unique kitchen, as well as other job sites. The collection features Eisenhower Jackets, Short Sleeve Work Shirts and their classic 874 work pants.
The imagery for the campaign is quite nice too, it shows all of the Ember gang decked out in Dickies, chopping, cutting and cooking around an open fire. It reminds us of The Bear if it was set in Berlin, to be honest.
The collection is available to shop now here.
