Les Deux collaborates with Ivy League university

Exciting news everyone, Danish lifestyle brand Les Deux has a collaboration with Yale, the collection features a tasteful set of house keys and a handful of lovely padlocks. Bad joke, you can already tell that’s not the case from the title.

Obviously, they’ve not worked with the British key manufacturers it’s actually quite the opposite, in that they’ve collaborated with the American Ivy League university, Yale.

We’re not all that clued up on American universities but we know that Yale is a hard one to get into, therefore it seems that Les Deux has achieved pretty highly in the context of their partner for this collaboration.

The collection between the two combines the old Americana prep style of the university with the fresh Scandinavian minimalism that Les Deux is synonymous with. There are very much two sides to the 27-piece collection, and we’re a fan of both.

On one hand, you’ve got sportswear-influenced pieces, featuring large spell outs and pinstripe designs, whereas opposingly you’ve got much more formal attire, including tweed blazers and pleated pants. We think it’s nice to see a collaboration by an American university producing clobber that appeals to both nerds and jocks.

The colour palette for the sportswear half of the roster features traditional varsity colours of black, navy and ivory, with artwork detailing the university’s very British looking Dan the bulldog mascot and of course, that classic Yale typography.

For the formal side of the capsule, much more sensible colours have been selected including browns, whites and beiges. Don’t be deceived as thinking this collection is only good for frat-boys and bookworms though, as some more conceptual designs have also been produced by the pair, such as a lovely looking Colorblock Knit as well as some all-over print denim bits.

Outside of the soft-goods, the brands have also produced one hard-good – a basketball, again we’re not entirely sure if Yale have got a good basketball team, but you’d imagine so with them being from the U.S of A.

The collection is available to purchase from here and here.
