Outsiders Store seem to have a bit of a spell when it comes to dealing with outdoor brands, and the latest news involving them definitely fuels our suspicions that somewhere over there is either a magician or has an intimidating weapon.
That’s because they’ve managed to convince Montbell to dig out some of their old fabric used to make their Superior Down Parka for a limited release of Outsiders x Montbell down jackets.
Most people probably wouldn’t understand Outsiders’ obsession with the old Superior Down Parka’s fabric, but we do. It’s shiny, high-gloss and looks mega when it’s pumped full of feathers from a goose’s bum.
For a quick rundown on what a Superior Down Parka is in case you’ve forgotten, or God forbid, you didn’t know in the first place… They’re an incredibly lightweight hooded down jacket constructed of sewn-through square quilted baffles that are then filled with 800-fill-power down, this high down fill strength makes the Superior Down Parka incredibly compressible and provides a fantastic warmth-to-weight ratio. Basically, they’re very good jackets that everybody should own.
For the Outsiders rendition, as we’ve said, they are made of that shiny fabric but also feature some subtle Outsiders Store embroidery on the cuff. Additionally, the jacket is coming in a series of five flavours this time around – Brown, White, Yellow, Green and Navy, all very reminiscent of the old and dearly loved versions of the Superior Down Parka.
The jackets are available to purchase now in Outsiders Stores and are set to release at 18:00 this Friday from their website.
