Aimé Leon Dore revives lost ’90s Timberland model

Timberlands never seem to truly go out of fashion – there’s always some subculture somewhere that’s claiming them as their own, and it’s easy to see why. They’re hard-wearing, reliable and quite often waterproof leather footwear, you don’t really need much else from a pair of shoes, do you?

We’ve got a mutual (at least we think it’s mutual) respect for Timbs for the aforementioned reason, and we’re always excited to see new models and collaborations that brand puts out.

Not much Timberland news has excited us as much as the latest we’ve just received though, this being their collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore, which sees the revival of a Timberland silhouette that was originally produced in 1991.

The silhouette in question is Timberland’s Moc Toe model, and what’s even better about this revival is that it also incorporates our favourite material ever – GORE-TEX. Lovely.

The Moc Toe comes in the form of a mid-lace-up style of boot that has been crafted from premium full grain leather, with a GORE-TEX membrane as well as an EVA footbed and padded leather collar for maximum comfiness. The boot reminds us of a very premium Rockport if we’re being honest.

Aimé Leon Dore has selected two colourways for the release, a classic Timberland brown, which for this rendition has been embossed with a crocodile style texture and also a black leather model that seems to have very tiny little dimples all over it. These uppers are set upon a chunky lugged rubber sole that looks like it would be able to deal with the bustling streets of New York and the slightly less bustling streets of Manchester in equal measure.

Each boot has also been finished with a piece of lace-keeping hardware as well as a novelty keychain which has been adorned with the iconic Aimé Leon Dore Queens Crest branding.
