Merrell 1TRL and Corridor introduce Moab Winter Moc 3

You know those days when you’re expecting to do nothing, so dress accordingly – joggers, hoodies, some kind of indoor footwear? Yeah well every so often on those kind of days, you spontaneously find yourself somewhere in the outdoors, dressed wholly inappropriately, not least because of your choice of footwear. Dragging yourself through a park with your favourite pair of trainers covered in mud – basically left looking like a complete amateur.

For us, the most annoying thing about this situation is getting a nice pair of comfy shoes coated in crap, but what if there was a way to combine a comfy shoe with an outdoor one? Well turns out there is, and it’s been spawned by the efforts of Merrell 1TRL and Brooklyn-based brand Corridor.

The joint efforts of the two have created a silhouette that is just as perfect for chilling as it is for light hikes, this has been achieved by combining a Moc upper with the rugged sole of a Moab, aptly named the Moab Winter Moc 3.

The duo have constructed the Moc from a premium suede leather upper which features a neoprene stretch collar, facilitating an effortless slip on and off motion. When we get too old to tie our laces, we reckon we’d just knock about in these 24/7, not only because they’ve got no laces though, but also because they’ve been treated with Merrells natural odour control solution, Cleansport NXT – the thought of being old and having stinky feet is too much to handle.

The shoe also features Merrell Air Cushion technology in the heel, which we’re sure feels like you’re walking on clouds. This has been paired with a moulded nylon arch shank inside the sole to provide stability when engaging in those unforseen outdoor activities. Subtle Corridor branding can be seen on a side heel label and inside the sole, the bespoke heel tab also references the natural fibre pattern work the brand is renowned for.

The imagery for the campaign has been shot of a pair of people having a picnic in a lovely park – the conditions don’t look too treacherous and we’re sure the Winter Moc 3 could withstand far more.

If you had to pick one shoe to wear for the rest of your lifetime, these wouldn’t be a bad bet, they look like they can pretty much do anything, and if we know anything about Merrell 1TRL they’ll probably last you a lifetime too.

The Moab Winter Moc 3 is set to release exclusively via Corridor on Friday, October 25th, with a wider global release a week later from Friday, November 1st.
