Farah Japan arrives in the UK

Perhaps one of the lesser-known facts about the clothing world is that quite a lot of brands have Japanese offshoots that are essentially their own brand, and they’re pretty much always better than the original thing, because you know Japanese people seem to be the coolest lot on the entire planet.

Anyway, one brand that has one of these Japanese offshoots is Farah, which we think is a bit strange, mainly because if you went to school in the North West of England in the 1970s and didn’t wear Farah trousers you would’ve been relentlessly bullied.

Obviously, Japan shared the youth of the North West’s infatuation with the trousers, as in 2020 Farah relaunched its Japanese line, and in 2022 the brand welcomed owner of Daiwa Pier & Weekend, Mr Kazuma Shigematsu as a director. Since then, Farah Japan has been flying, evidenced by their collaborations with brands and stores such as Beams, Journal Standard and This Is Never That.

The only frustrating thing about Farah Japan is that it isn’t available to purchase anywhere outside of Japan – until now…

For AW24 the brand has decided to take pity on all us style-less Westerners and make the collection available to purchase within Europe. To celebrate this, the good people at The Garbstore hosted a launch party for the arrival of Farah Japan and also put together a host of lovely images to show us what the collection is all about.

The collection itself is titled ‘I Just Know’ and features a host of sublime garb including trousers, jackets and shirts. There are two picks of the bunch for us, those being the Duffle Coat and the Nylon Down Jacket, with each looking equally as perfect as the other for the winter months we’re marching into.

Hopefully, this news is no flash in the pan, we for one would definitely welcome Farah Japan back to the United Kingdom anytime they want, in exchange for a collection of nice outerwear of course.

The collection is available to be purchased from The Garbstore here.
