For nearly 50 years now Klättermusen has been producing some of the finest mountaineering garments and equipment – now we’re certainly no mountaineers, but we are massively into massive outerwear, meaning the Swedish brand is right at the top of our list when it comes to chewing people’s ears off about brands we’re into.
It’s one of those companies that is so distinct you actually feel like you know it as if it was a person – the garments are fantastically made, brilliantly Swedish, and well just very Klättermusen- you can spot one of their bags or jackets from a mile away, and we love it for this very reason.
Going down the trope of Klättermusen being like an old eccentric Swedish mate, we’d now like to take the chance to congratulate them on what is a pretty big milestone – the opening of their first French store.
The store is in the heart of Paris, located in the Marais district and will be serving the Parisians a host of high-end mountain-ready products that combine innovation, sustainability, and Scandinavian style.
If you can’t tell, we’ll let it be known – we’re pretty jealous about the whole thing considering that there’s not a Klättermusen shop in Manchester. Yet.
Anyway, until that day comes we’ll have to just sit and salivate over our computer screens at the other Klättermusen stores in the world – either that or we’ll have to face our fears and make the trip down to the store in the big smoke.
As it turns out, the opening of the Paris store is also special for reasons outside of it being another top tier bricks & mortar outdoor shop – Klättermusen’s CEO studied there.
Here’s what Gonz Ferrero had to say about the opening:
“Our goal is to inspire people to appreciate the outdoors and most importantly, the craftsmanship mindset that leads us to create special outdoor pieces balancing aesthetic, technical, and environmental considerations. We are excited to open our first Klättermusen store in Les Marais, a part of Paris I have very fond memories from my student days. This is a special area that continues to evolve its own blend of creativity uniqueness and energy, respectfully acknowledging its past, committedly crafting its future.”
So basically, we’re writing this to congratulate Klättermusen on this rather large milestone, share images of the lovely-looking shop with you, and also put in a polite request that they build one in Ancoats.
