Tennis is a pretty cool sport, we reckon. Not just because of the sport itself, but mostly because of the clobber the game has given us – Fila tracksuits, Stan Smiths & Ellesse visors.
One shoe that was birthed with racket sports in mind that arguably fly’s under the radar is New Balance’s T500. The T500 is a low-profile, no-nonsense tennis shoe that would slip seamlessly into anyone’s rotation of trainees.
The T500’s herringbone outsole pattern, complete with a pivot circle, ensures superior traction on any surface, with the woven tongue label functioning as a nice refined and premium touch, while the iconic ‘New Balance’ wordmark branding at the heel reinforces its timeless appeal.
For added comfort and breathability, the perforated toe box keeps your feet cool whether you find yourself on or off the court.
In our case, it’s unequivocally off.
Anyway as we descend into the darker months of the year, New Balance has offered us three new colourways of the T500 to lessen the strain.
The first is a white rendition with lovely forest green New Balance detailing, named Sea Salt with Marsh Green and Angora – a colourway that sounds as delicious as it looks.
Second up is the inverse of that, with the upper being a forest green colour with clean white New Balance detailing called Marsh Green with Angora and Sea Salt.
And finally, our pick of the bunch, a rendition of the T500 in that classic New Balance navy colour aptly titled NB Navy with Sea Salt and Marine Blue.
Each of these three are sure to brighten your mood and serves as a reminder that brighter days are coming – not for flipping ages though.
