Café Mountain x Padmore & Barnes The Original P204 ‘Hairy Hiker’

Given there’s snow on the ground in a fair portion of the UK, the thought of hiking right now is reserved for the hardiest of souls, and the hairiest of hikers.

Coincidentally, it’s a hairy hiker we’re here to tell you about, via the latest project from Café Mountain. This isn’t a dishevelled roamer in a big coat though, but a shoe which – to be honest – is probably best kept away from anywhere with extreme weather right now.

We love a good contradiction and this is definitely that. Made with the experts in Ireland by the name of Padmore & Barnes, this reworking of their P204 model takes the true origins of the shoe and brings out a hairy suede version designed for those times when a wander about in nature is more leisurely.

Fabricated in a robust extra hairy two tone suede, the shoe features several distinctive and purposeful details; the ‘D ring’ lacing system and dual tone hiking laces harking back to the golden age of the outdoors, a time where leisure and taking it easy in nature was ever prominent. The ultra light weight VIBRAM Morflex sole unit provides enhanced mobility and comfort allowing you to maneuver freely and with relaxed intent.

Handstitched by locals in their homes, the tradition of hand crafted processes and culture is a shared passion of both Padmore & Barnes and Café Mountain. As always, with everything Café Mountain lends their expert hand to, The Café Mountain x Padmore & Barnes Original P204 Hairy Hiker lives up to the exceptional quality you expect from the homegrown English label. Padmore & Barnes have been synonymous with fine shoemaking for approaching 100 years.
