Something about brands releasing collections titled ‘Holiday (insert year here)’ makes us more likely to buy stuff from them, perhaps we’re just really simple and the mere mention of a word that evokes mental imagery of an escape to somewhere hot is enough to convince us to buy stuff.
If that is the case, it’s more applicable than ever right now, with us residing in the North of England we’ve suddenly been plunged into a deep freeze, and as much as we like to bang on about wearing big jackets, sitting somewhere on a beach in shorts doesn’t sound too bad at the minute.
Well, one brand that’s released a ‘Holiday’ titled collection at just the right time for our simple minds is Stüssy, as their Holiday 24 collection arrived at The Garbstore just the other day.
We should mention, that even though it’s called Holiday, it’s essentially just an AW24 collection, so yeah don’t actually be expecting shorts or anything like that.
But what you should be expecting is an abundance of lovely shirting, knits and outerwear, and we’ll go into a bit of detail about some of our favourite bits for the few of you who actually like to read…
The first piece of produce that caught our eye from Stüssy’s fine crop of cotton isn’t actually made of cotton, it’s made of lambswool – the Roll V Neck Fairisle Sweater – a beautifully bright and festive sweater with an intriguing neck, sort of like a cross between a roll neck and a V-neck, we suppose.
The second item that caught our eye is cotton, and it’s the Classic Long Sleeve Shirt in Sprayed Tan, don’t worry, the colour sounds a bit dubious, but it’s actually just a really nice brown coffee kind of colour with random lighter coloured splotches – delightful.
There are loads of other nice bits as well, but instead of listening to us waffling, it’s probably worth just gawping at the looks that The Garbstore have put together themselves.
