Gramicci & thisisneverthat reference 90s designs in latest collaboration

It feels like every other day we’re talking about how Gramicci is one of our favourite brands, and sometimes we think we should tone it down a bit…

But almost as if they can sense this feeling, every time they respond with something that hooks us straight back in and surprise surprise this is exactly what’s happened again, eight days into the new year.

The thing hooking us back in this time comes in the form of a hook-up… between themselves and Korean-based streetwear brand, thisisneverthat.

The duo have given 2025 the jumpstart we all desperately need through the announcement of a collaborative capsule that blends thisisneverthat’s vintage influence with Gramicci’s rich heritage, something we were also only banging on about just the other day.

Before we jump into the collection we’d just like to preface by saying that Gramicci were always going to have a tough time in 2025 following up their impressive roster of last year’s collaborations – and Wander, Adsum & Greater Goods just to name a few.

But with that said, they’ve risen to the challenge and this is right up there with our all-time Gramicci collabs.

The reason for our profound enthusiasm about this one in particular stems from the atmosphere, vibe, mood – whatever you want to call it – that the collection embodies. It’s fun, nostalgic and free-spirited, three things we reckon everyone should be deeply passionate about.

The fun & free-spirited element can be attributed to the colour palette & design of the garb, but is also massively influenced by the way the product has been shot on models – a lot of movement and questionable poses synergise with the gear in a highly dopamine-inducing way.

Nostalgia is driven primarily by thisisneverthat implementing their vintage knowhow to resurrect some classic Gramicci patterns, namely on the T-shirt, fleece gilet & beanie-ish hat, and it’s no coincidence that these are also our favourite items of the collection.

Accompanying the trio of patterned goods is a vintage washed light jacket and pants in a host of lovely colours, as well as a graphic T-shirt, cap, bandana and climbing hold keychain.

Everything in this endeavour has gone expertly well, just as you’d expect with having two complete professionals on the job, and we’d argue it has come at just the right time – January can be a pretty miserable month surrounded by cold, wet and darkness, but this collaboration is anything but that and certainly seeks to lift the mood.

The collaboration will be available starting Friday, January 10, at thisisneverthat and Gramicci’s online and offline stores.
