Vans reveal new colourways of outdoor-ready MTE Crosspath

Have you ever wondered what a Vans shoe would look like if it lived in a van had an aversion to haircuts and was big into Lion’s Mane, the great outdoors & moustaches? We have, and it appears Vans have too with their recently released MTE Crosspath.

Which is essentially an all-terrain, outdoor-ready, lug-soled Vans model.

The (semi) new outdoorsy addition to Vans roster has been hailed as the brand’s most versatile shoe, but as always we’ll be the unaccredited judges of that.

As mentioned, The MTE Crosspath shuffles into the line-up as Vans solution to outdoor-ready footwear, and this is achieved through its composition of outdoor-ready materials…

The upper is constructed of 100% recycled PET and has been reinforced with abrasion-resistant panelling as well as the brand-trademarked RAPIDWELD™ – as to what it is, we’re not too sure, but it certainly sounds solid.

The upper has then been treated with a non-PFC DWR water-repellent, ensuring your toes stay dry when conditions are not, this sustainably sourced fabric alloy is then placed atop a chunky midsole which is completed with a toe-guard and outsole of the same ilk.

As you’d expect of the cool van-dwelling cousin, the MTE Crosspath is composed of largely Mother Earth-friendly materials – the midsole is made with at least 50% biobased EVA foam derived from plants, and 31% of the rubber on the outsole is gathered from regeneratively grown natural rubber farms.

The MTE Crosspath was originally introduced in October of last year, but the reason for our spiel about it now comes as the result of a duo of new colourways being released…

The first of which utilizes a predominantly orange paint job, with pops of burgundy appearing on the liner, outsole and heel tab, which is then completed with a pair of black laces with reflective flecks.

Second up is a much riskier all-white pair with hits of teal and tennis ball green-y yellow.

The new colourways have been shot in typical Vans fashion – alongside roomy-clothed models and within a few metres of a beach.

We feel a bit guilty about the whole thing, to be honest, and that’s only because we’ve not spoken about the MTE Crosspath sooner, but best believe now that we’ve crossed paths we’re not going to shut up about them.

The latest colourways of the MTE Crosspath are available to purchase from Vans.
