It’s getting to that time of year when checking the weather app in the mornings is no longer as soul-destroying a task as it once was. That little sun icon is becoming ever more present and with it comes hope. That being said, we have just written this while it’s pouring outside of our Manchester office. We’re not letting that ruin our optimism though.
These slowly improving conditions are slowly resurrecting the enjoyment of going into the outside world, hikes are no longing prematurely ending as a result of frozen fingers and mud-caked shoes, and we’re pretty pleased about it. To celebrate we’ve put together an Outdoor Edit curated specifically for those sunny strolls that are becoming more of a regularity at this time of year.

Norse Projects 3L Waterproof Shell Jacket
This jacket is a thing of beauty. Is it an anorak? Is it a smock? Is it a cagoule? Who knows, those double frontal zips have got us confused, but one thing’s very clear, it’s well nice.
Service Works Canvas Chef Pants
Service Works have cracked the code of producing lightweight, hardwearing and relatively inexpensive legwear. Although designed originally for chefs, we reckon everyone should own a pair of these, even if your culinary skills don’t stretch beyond beans on toast.

Barbour Lifestyle Tartan Sports Cap
A man (or woman) wearing tartan on their head commands respect, and this Barbour cap will certainly grant you that. Be getting nods left right and centre from the older ramblers in this cap.
Merrell Agility Peak 5 Trainers
The colourway on these Merrell’s is one of the best we’ve seen in a good while. The shape of these also kind of reminds us of a shark, a good thing because everyone knows sharks are the coolest sea-dwelling creatures.

Carhartt Relaxed Fit American Script T-Shirt
Have you ever worn a waterproof jacket without a T-shirt? Well if you have, you’ll know it’s not a very pleasant experience. You sort of just become a big human boil-in-the-bag rice packet. Not very nice at all. To avoid this, it’s definitely best to wear a T-shirt, like this nice Carhartt one here.
