Whenever I hear the word Nanamica I think of that scene in Snatch where Brick Top says ‘Do you know what Nemesis means?‘ You know, because ‘Nanamica’ and ‘nemesis’ sound vaguely similar. Not entirely sure why I think this way, but it got me thinking – what does Nanamica mean?
As it turns out the name actually means ‘house of the seven seas’ which makes quite a lot of sense, many of the brand’s designs incorporate nautical references, whether that be sailing-style pullover smocks or literal wave designs on their garments, Nanamica has definitely got a thing for the sea.
Now you lot probably already knew all of that, but in my view, my revelation about Nanamica’s name has warranted a product round-up from Lincolnshire-based retailer, EQVVS. In truth, it’s just an excuse to talk about one of our favourite Japanese brands.

Nanamica has time and time again illustrated they know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to producing incredible-looking, relaxed outerwear. This jacket could make just about anyone look like the coolest person in the room – look at the width of those chunky drawstrings and the depth of those pockets. Fantastic stuff.
Only two products in and we’re already seeing some of Nanamica’s nautical influence, this time through a tee that has the phrase ‘ONE OCEAN ALL LANDS’ printed on it. Again, not quite sure the literal meaning of that, but the tee looks well nice.

Nanamica Reversible Hooded Jacket
Even a brand as serious as Nanamica can’t resist the temptation of a reversible garment, and just as you’d expect they’ve executed it expertly well. On one side you’ve got a plain beige finish, and on the other, you’ve got a white finish with a printed ‘OOAL’ logo on the chest. For those wondering, yes, this jacket is also modelled on an ’80s sailing parka. Obviously.
Nanamica Hooded Pullover Sweat
This Japanese brand excels at making performance outerwear so you’d hope they know how to make a good hoodie, and by looking to your right you’ll quickly see they absolutely do. No-nonsense comfort here, courtesy of Nanamica’s signature Double Face material.

Everyone knows that the higher the neckline of a garment, the more distinguished the gentleman is wearing it. By that metric, this Nanamica Mock Neck T-Shirt will probably shift your pronunciation of ‘bath‘ to ‘barth‘, and ‘grass‘ to ‘grarse.’
Nanamica 5G Zip Through Cardigan
Right, before all the conspiracy theorists start kicking off about the name of this garment, we can confirm Nanamica has nothing to do with telecommunications. Now that’s out of the way, I think we can all agree this is a nice cardigan.
