6876 re-releases classic archive t-shirts

If you’ve been paying attention to us for a long while, you’ll know 6876 is a mainstay brand for us. We’ve observed trends of the last 20 years as much as anyone, but when something is so classic, trends don’t really matter.

For the uninitiated, 6876 take its name from two key years in the the life of its founder, Kenneth Mackenzie – 1968 and 1976. The former references the Paris riots in May of 1968 where millions of workers and students protested for reform, while the latter is pinpointed as the year punk was born.

Everything Kenneth puts out under the 6876 label must have function at its heart, and within that usefulness comes an austere attractiveness that employs clean lines, classic colours and an uncompromising quality.

As ever, if you’re wanting to dip your toe in the brand rather than bowl straight in and buy loads of coats, t-shirts are your gateway drug, and noticing Kenneth has been sharing some of the best designs from the 6876 of the past, we thought it was overdue a nod of appreciation on these pages.

We won’t get into the inspiration behind each tee because you should want to investigate that yourself. Above all they look smart, which is a decent starting point for any piece of clothing.

Have a look at 6876 here, and do so now.
