Some things never go out of style. New Balance knows this better than most, which is why their Made in USA line continues to be a masterclass in timeless design and top-tier craftsmanship. For Spring/Summer ‘24, they’re kicking things off with two heavy hitters: the 997 and the 992, both out now.
This first drop taps into the hazy, sun-bleached palette of summer—think soft, earthy tones that sit somewhere between nostalgia and modernity. The campaign leans into the beauty of the outdoors, a fitting match for a collection that feels effortlessly organic yet unmistakably refined.
First up, the 997. Originally released in 1990, it was ahead of its time then, and it’s still setting the standard now. That signature wedge-shaped midsole and high-set heel pad make it instantly recognizable, while the Light Mushroom/Mirage Grey mix of premium leather, mesh, and hairy suede is as easy on the eye as it is on the feet.
Then there’s the 992. Launched in 2006, and employed in a berth at the top table of trainers ever since. A Moonrock/Mushroom colourway keeps things clean, while the ENCAP and ABZORB midsole tech ensures supreme comfort whether you’re breaking them in or just breaking them out to show off to your pals and set the marker down for summer.
