I’m claiming that. It’s about time the older of the two Oasis brothers had his sartorial choices highlighted. Liam is acutely aware of his cache in such matters and has earned a crust or two out of the likes of Berghaus and Stone Island, not to mention the recent Clarks Originals collab. And while this re-release of a classic Penfield smock doesn’t have any official stamp of approval, there can be no doubting what turbo charged its popularity back in the 1990s.
We’re weak for smocks here at Proper, always been the case. That high neck, baggy body, moody but military chic just hits us right in the clothing gland, if there is such a thing. And even if you’re already tired of hearing about Oasis ahead of the summer, you have to acknowledge this is simply a really nice jacket. You’ll see plenty of them about but again, sometimes it’s nice to fit in, a bit. We’d post a pic of the bloke in the jacket but we don’t own the rights. Fair enough really. You could just google it here.
It comes in two colours, both of which were once donned by the Burnage brother. Penfield tell us they reckon this is a guaranteed sell out. If they’ve got any sense they’ll be getting more made as we speak. It’s going to be an interesting summer for Noelstalgia and whatever Liam-based portmanteau I’ve yet to come up with.
