It’s the time of year when our thoughts tentatively turn to the coast, something we’ve got in abundance here in the UK, over 7700 miles to be exact. Naturally, being founded on the North Eastern segment of this stretch, END. are celebrating 20 years in the game with a nod to those environs.
The latest leg of their 20th anniversary shindig is a full-fat love letter to the North East: seagulls, salty chips, and all. END. have emptied a bottle of chip shop vinegar and filled it with all the nostalgic nods you’ve expect from the Great British Seaside.
The hero of the drop is a chip shop-inspired spin on adidas’ archival BW Army silhouette. Dressed in white and grey with fish-scale-style paneling (seriously), the sneaker comes seasoned with fluffy laces, dark grey suede, and a gum sole so classic you can almost hear it squelch on a sticky seaside floor.
Details like co-branded vinegar sachets printed on the insole and tongue, plus a custom box that feels like it should come with a side of scraps, although not every chippy provides this delicacy. Let’s not get into regional differences in chip shop offers, we’d be here forever.
While tees and caps from Picante and Local Space sit alongside this footwear, it’s the adidas BW Army that stands out, echoing the heritage that sits at the core of this campaign.
