You probably don’t need us to tell you that Mizuno is one of Japan’s greatest footwear exports. And if you did, you should probably start spending more time on our website…
Anyway, in the conversation of iconic Mizuno models, the Wave Prophecy LS should be the first name on your tongue, and it just so happens that the brand has announced the release of two fresh new colourways of the silhouette, just in time for spring.
The duo of colourways are, as it happens, polar opposite to each other. One dark. One light. We suggest letting your stood-in-puddles-per-year statistic inform your choice for which one you decide to purchase.
The first, dark model sees the Wave Prophecy LS totally blacked out in all its see-through soled glory. The silhouettes caged upper blends seamlessly with the midsole to produce an undeniably mean-looking version of the Wave Prophecy LS – if we had to pick which would win in a fight between the two colourways, it would definitely be this one.
Brawn isn’t everything, though, and if we’re being totally transparent (like the Wave Prophecy’s sole), the lighter pair might actually be our favourite. This time, the upper has been cast of white, grey and cream materials and contrasted with a set of black laces and tongue. The bit that absolutely makes this colourway, though, is the tiny pop of purple on the heel’s ‘Mizuno Wave‘ badge. Delectable.
While the blacked out version is available from a fair few retailers, including SEVEN STORE, the lighter pair is much harder to come by, obviously adding to its desirability.
We’ll let you in on a secret, though…
Both pairs can be bought from our friends at This Thing Of Ours here.
