As the Scandi sun lets out a massive yawn and stretches its limbs, the melted snow give way to dusty trails and pine needles. People associate Scandinavia with their wintry iteration more often than not, but having visited the place in summer, I can attest to there being few places quite as perfect as Sweden in summer.
And as the outdoors demands a different type of clothing, native brand Klättermusen steps up once again with gear that doesn’t just keep pace—it sets it. Known for nearly five decades of making kit for those who prefer their weekend plans with altitude, the Swedish mountaineering maestros are back with a fresh drop geared toward trail running. Everyone seems to be into running these days and it’s only a short leap away from the hiking everyone also seems to be into.
Head of Design Isabelle Liahaugen sums it up neatly: “Your gear shouldn’t tell you when to stop. It should be ready when the short loop turns into an accidental ultra.”
Leading the charge is the new ‘Vingtor’ jacket, made from the brand’s Cutan® fabric—which is waterproof, breathable, and blessedly free from any nasty fluorocarbons. Right behind it is the featherweight ‘Eitre’ windbreaker, spun from 100% recycled Oculus® fabric. It packs down small enough to vanish into your running vest, yet holds its own when the weather turns sulky.
There’s more than just jackets though. Old favourites like the ‘Bele’ shorts (a tidy 100g of freedom), ‘Sol’ cap, and ‘Tjalve 2.0’ trail bag return in fresh hues. Meanwhile, the ‘Groa’ and ‘Narfi’ tees have been given a once-over and now feature clever blends of merino, Tencel®, and recycled poly that wick away sweat like a charm. Oh, and the ‘Allvis’ scarf is back too, for those who run hot but still like a bit of neck coverage.
This collection isn’t just about running—it’s about running well, with gear that’s as lightweight on your back as it is on the planet.
It’s all available now at Klättermusen stores, online, and at select stockists. Go forth, get sweaty, and leave nothing but footprints.
