Heimplanet injects stealthy vibes with Neo Black Program

Since I bagged myself a Heimplanet Fistral tent a few years ago, every camping trip I’ve been on has been improved by roughly 128%. It’s just a great piece of kit for all sorts of reasons. So, naturally when they got in touch to tell me about their Neo Black Program, my ears pricked up, a bit like when you ask your dog if it wants to go for a walk. You know those trigger words. For me, that word is Heimplanet.

Born in Northern Europe, Heimplanet has always had a thing for clever design and proper kit. Without it, the weather would present too much of an off-putting prospect. Their gear is sturdy, reliable and well-made. It’s not for entry-level campers and the price is reflected in that, but as ever, sometimes it’s best to invest in something that’ll last a lot longer.

Now they’ve gone full stealth with The Neo Black Program — a limited drop of two of their most popular tents, drenched head-to-toe in black. Inspired by the calm precision of Japanese camping culture, this all-black-everything setup isn’t shouting for attention. It’s just quietly cooler than yours. And to be honest, it’s marginally cooler than my existing tent. You don’t see many black tents do you?

Think minimal, think functional. The Cave XL and Backdoor models get the blackout treatment inside and out, complete with PFAS-free weatherproofing and a dark twist on their signature Cairo camo. Four-season ready, low-key iconic. No serious outdoor expedition should be without one.
