Six of the Best – Salomon from EQVVS

Salomon is a brand that needs little to no introduction. Ever since they first released their XT-6 model back in 2013, the brand has slowly been catching fire, sort of like a caravan that has been drunk-driven through a faulty carwash, and now that caravan has erupted into flames, and bits of it are absolutely everywhere…

If that analogy went over your head, what we’re trying to say is that Salomon has taken the footwear market by storm – you’d be hard pressed not to see a pair walking down the high streets these days, and the same goes for the trail. See, Salomon is a do-it-all footwear manufacturer, and that’s the reason we love them so much. Strap a pair of XT-6 to your feet and you’re ready to go to work, for a run, an evening hike and then finish at the pub. Seldom will you find yourself conducting an activity where a pair of Salomons wouldn’t be suitable.

They’re not just functional lumps of foam, though; the brand consistently gets the aesthetics bang on too, and consistently produces some of our favourite colourways of the year…

So, as a way of celebrating Salomon, and all their fantastic spring offerings, we’ve put together a list of six of our favourite models available from our mates over at EQVVS.

Salomon XT-6 Roasted Clay

What a colourway this is. We’ve already touched on why the XT-6 is so great, but this palette of beautiful browns, reds and pinks only serves to elevate the shoe further. You know what? We’re just going to go ahead and say it, this might just be the best XT-6 colourway of all time…

Salomon XT-6 GTX Olive Night

At first glance, these might just look like a regular pair of XT-6, but lean a little closer and you’ll notice some small GORE-TEX branding. The addition of the waterproof wonder material makes this iteration of the XT-6 perfect for those who enjoy wading through puddles, crossing rivers, and swimming with their shoes on.

Salomon XA PRO 3D AMPHIB Vanilla Ice

If you’ve never put on a pair of XA PRO before, you’re missing out. Big time. They’re incredibly comfy, and also dry quickly (hence the amphibious part of the name). Where the GORE-TEX XT-6 specialises in keeping the water out, the XA PRO makes sure it comes out, once it gets in.

Salomon XT-6 EXPANSE Alloy

A close relative of the XT-6, the EXPANSE version introduces new materials and textures to the classic silhouette. That might sound mysterious, but all you need to know is it’s slightly more robust and a little bit firmer. Kind of like the XT-6’s roidhead cousin.

Salomon XT-6 Oxford Tan

As you can see, here we have another great colourway of the XT-6. Not much more needs to be said. (Other than we’d very much like a pair, if you’re listening, Salomon.)

Salomon XA PRO 3D AMPHIB

Closing out our list is this blacked out XA PRO. Great for burglaries that could involve bodies of water, water guns, or water in any form, really.
