It goes without saying, but The Sopranos is one of our generation’s most important style studies. Everything in the show – from Christopher’s velour sets & Tony’s patterned shirts, to Bobby Bacala’s hunting outfit – is just so good. There aren’t many shows you could happily watch on mute, but The Sopranos is one of them.
Stylistically, right up there are the sunglasses. Each character’s shades flawlessly complement their personality. There are a few standout sunglasses scenes your mind will probably flick to, like when Jackie Jr wears a pair indoors, or when Christopher falls off the wagon in LA and effortlessly dons the bathrobe and sunglasses combo.
Thanks to The Sopranos and its fantastic eyewear, every summer without fail, we find ourselves scrambling to look for a wise-guy-inspired pair of shades, desperately contemplating where cool ends and playing dress-up begins.
Well, sure enough, that time of the year has rolled around again. The sun is out, and we’re hungry for a good pair of shades and several hundred slices of gabagool. This time, though, we’ve thoughtfully compiled a list of Sopranos sunglasses perfectly suited for sitting outside of pork store in the sunshine, courtesy of our friends at EQVVS.

These Messy Weekend shades definitely look a bit of Silvio. Quiet. Understated. But still cool. Can imagine him sporting these in that scene where he’s watching Heather play football, and then shortly after gets into a heated spat with the referee. Great scene.
Ray Ban Mega Wayfarer Sunglasses
Bet you didn’t think Mikey Palmice’s name was going to make this list. Although the character only lasted a season, he remains a firm favourite, not just in terms of watchability, but also his wardrobe. His jogging attire was unbeaten. Anyway, we reckon these Ray Bans would pique Mikey’s interest; definitely seems like the type of bloke that would be into a bit of tortoise shell.

Ray Ban Wayfarer Folding Sunglasses
Bobby Bacala might not be the most capable of wise guys, but what he lacks in killer instinct, he makes up for in practicality. The infamous Pine Barrens hunting rigout shows Bobby is a man who enjoys purchasing niche, functional gear, so for that reason, we reckon these foldable sunglasses would be right up his street.
Ray Ban Marshall II Sunglasses
Throughout the show, Christopher is constantly searching for his arc, substituting real substance for material and chemical replacements – Lexuses, heroin, Range Rovers, Maseratis. Chris is a guy who likes to spend, and likes to show, and would most definitely be interested in these slightly flashy Ray Bans.

Ray Ban Old Aviator Sunglasses
A don might not wear shorts, but he does wear aviators. Although he definitely doesn’t pay for them. Remember there’s that scene where he’s intimidating some fella that owns a sunglasses shop and walks out with a pair? Actually felt quite bad for that guy.
Messy Weekend New Depp Sunglasses
Obviously, we didn’t forget about the best character in the entirety of the show – Mr Paulie Walnuts. Does anyone actually know why his pseudo-surname is Walnuts? Would love to know. Anyway, picking sunglasses for Paulie was difficult. He’d definitely rather permanently damage his retinas than actually pay for a pair, but we settled on these Messy Weekend ones. Like something he’d wear on a boat, sipping on a margarita someone else prepared. And paid for.
