Seven from SEVEN – Shorts for the sunshine

Shorts. An iteration of legwear we could talk about for hours. Far, far superior to trousers & the main reason you’d choose to work in the postal service. For most of us, shorts season has only just rolled around, but for the diehard Northern dads, it never truly left.

Part of the reason we love shorts is because they promote adventure – hiking, running, swimming, and cycling are all activities best enjoyed with above-the-knee legwear. If shorts could talk, they’d always be telling you to have that extra drink and to leave your phone at home. We’ve got a lot of time for shorts, and we’re buzzing that the recent abundance of sunshine has resurrected them from the depths of our wardrobes.

To celebrate the best legwear in existence, we’ve put together a list of the seven best shorts available from SEVEN STORE right now.

Patagonia Baggies 5-Inch Short

If you’re serious about shorts, you’ve got a pair of Patagonia Baggies. They’re the ultimate do-everything shorts, there’s nothing you don’t need, and everything you do. You’ve only got to look back through old Patagonia catalogues to understand how capable Baggies are – they might not look like much, but these shorts could carry you through the Amazon Rainforest, across the Mekong Delta and over Kilimanjaro.

and Wander Multi Pocket Short Pant

You could tell and Wander were behind these shorts from a mile off, although they’re not even really shorts. More just wearable pockets. We’ve actually counted seven individual pockets on these, which is mental – in the best kind of way. If you’re a caretaker with a penchant for Japanese technical clothing, these are a must.

Mellow Clo Ramble Short

Good fit. Perfect fabric. Great brand. These Mellow Clo Ramble Shorts are the kind of shorts you refuse to take off. Colour might not be for everyone, but we’re big into it.

Servive Works Canvas Chef Short

We have to admit, we’re a bit jealous of Service Works. Cool kitchen-influenced workwear? Why didn’t we think of that? Anyway, these shorts capabilities look like they’d stretch a lot further than just the kitchen.

Parra The Wall Camo Short

Parra always comes out with some of the best/maddest patterns imaginable – we’d love to know what the head designer gets up to recreationally. Aside from the mental pattern, these shorts have two cargo pockets and an elasticated waist. Everything you need, really.

FrizmWORKS NYCO Fishing Short

These FrizmWORKS shorts are like the older, slightly more sensible relative of those highly pocketed and Wander shorts. Apparently, these shorts draw inspiration from classic fishing gear, so if you spend a lot of time angling or just watching River Monsters, you should probably consider getting a pair.

Gramicci Nylon Packable G-Short

If you thought we were going to miss Gramicci off this list, you’d be sorely mistaken. Obviously, we were going to include a pair of G-Shorts, and this time we’ve opted for the packable variety.
