Dogs are great, aren’t they? Always there when you’re feeling down. Not interested in trivial nonsense like emails. And forever worthy candidates for blaming farts and stolen food on. Yeah, we love dogs. Everyone should love dogs. Treat them nice, and they’ll be nice to you forever.
For whatever reason, though, some people don’t treat dogs very nicely, and it’s these dogs that we all need to be looking out for the most. Whether that be reporting animal abuse to a relevant charity, or buying a rescue – our mistreated pups are the most important, and this is something Uskees has shone a spotlight on for their latest campaign titled Best in Show
For the campaign, Uskees has partnered with Dogs 4 Rescue, a kennel free rescue charity with centres across the suburbs of Manchester and into the hills of Lancashire. They’re a charity that truly cares about dog welfare, and their work goes much deeper than simply housing dogs, frequently rescuing strays from euthanasia and removing dogs from abusive situations.
In a hugely creative (and very wholesome) way to show off their latest collection, Uskees has selected 12 dogs from the charity to match their pseudo-owners rig-out in six show classes – Toy, Terrier, Utility, Work, Hound and Pastoral. It’s the most heart-warming look book style shoot we’ve ever seen, and a testament that dogs really do look like their owners.
The styling is a stoke of genius, and each dog & owner has a brief description informing you of their occupation, texting habits, preferred toy and optimal walking distance. It’s great reading, but of course these real dogs have real stories, and sadly they’re not quite as uplifting…
In the Utility category, Panda was left disabled after contracting a severe illness. In the Hound category, Loki was found abandoned wandering the streets of Eastern Europe. And in the Pastoral category Lucy, a former street dog has been waiting for a home for 7 years.
Now that your keyboards are drenched in tears, you can go and adopt one of these dogs (or all of them) by visiting here.
It’s easily one of the best campaigns we’ve seen in years, and it shouts about a cause that really matters. Each of the dogs in the campaign – and all Dogs 4 Rescue dogs – need help. Oh, and the Uskees gear is great as well.
