We’ve arrived. The end of the END. corner Shop collab trilogy. First came the adidas HRMY – a homage to corner shop print media in all its chaotic glory: broadsheets, gardening mags, and tabloids screaming with unhinged headlines. Then came the C.P. Company collab, delivering a selection of finely goggled outerwear, inspired by the crinkly cellophane wrapped around all the corner shop’s tastiest delicacies.
And now, to complete the trifecta, END. have partnered with ASICS to provide a collab inspired entirely by milk…
Yeah, milk. The white liquid you’re told to drink as a child. Hardly the most exotic of corner shop commodities. If it were us, we would’ve had it centred around grab bags of Monster Munch, or those elusive Tango Ice Blast machines you only get in those bougee Premiers. But no, END. & ASICS have decided that this final chapter will revolve entirely around bottled calcium.
Originally, we were a bit sceptical. Milk is a bit weird after all, isn’t it? But if there was any team to execute a milk-inspired collaboration correctly, END. & ASICS are definitely that team. And if you thought they were going to opt for an all white shoe with added cow print, thankfully, you’d be wrong.
Instead, the duo have opted to wrap the GELNIMBUS™ 10.1 in a tasteful white & grey paintjob with a healthy amount of royal blue detailing akin to the caps heading up bottles of full-fat milk (the only kind worth its weight.) The only place you’ll find obvious dairy inspiration is on the insoles, which have been printed with a foamy milk pattern.
The result of the duo’s efforts is a very wearable trainer – one that doesn’t scream milk-inspired, which is undoubtedly for the best. And as ever with ASICS, this GEL-NIMBUS™ 10.1 is built with meticulous Japanese craftsmanship and packed with the good stuff: rearfoot and forefoot GEL™ tech, dual-layer EVA midsoles, and the signature TRUSSTIC™ system. All tools ensuring you can sprint to the offie and re-up on the white stuff -without risking a toe cramp.
The END. x ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 10.1 will launch online via END. on August 1.
