Anything Wallabee-related will always attract our magpie eye, and this link-up between vintage stalwarts Dukes Cupboard and the iconic footwear brand from Somerset is no exception.
Taking something so timeless as the Clarks Wallabee and somehow trying to add value and intrigue to it is tough. How do you improve on perfection? Numerous collab projects have had a very good stab at this task though, taking fabrics, colours and branding as their opportunity to make something distinctive without ruining what makes the Wallabee a Wallabee.
This Dukes version boasts an off-white mesh upper and bold pink suede fob, finished with Clarks Originals and Dukes Cupboard branding. As with anything white, some older relative is going to point out you’ll have to be careful not to get them dirty. However, through the short promo film they’ve created to launch these, that scenario comes true. You’ll have to watch it to see what I mean.
