Scandinavia. Land of fjords, fisherman knits, and design language that makes the rest of us feel like we’re still using Microsoft Paint. We love everything about all parts of Scandinavia, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t have a particular soft spot for Copenhagen – and Works and Days Autumn/Winter ‘25 collection is a stiff reminder why.
If Works and Days isn’t on your radar yet, fair enough. Founded in 2022, the label is still young – but don’t mistake that for teething problems. With Raff Godfrey (formerly the man steering menswear at Norse Projects) at the helm, the brand has already carved out a confident identity: Scandinavian clarity filtered through a modern workwear lens, resulting in some seriously impressive outerwear.
Case in point, AW25’s 2 Way Working Jacket – a semi-formal silhouette that has been smattered with deep pockets and cut from a Japanese Double Cross Weave 2 Way Stretch Cloth. Think of it as a work blazer designed for an office perched somewhere in the Faroe Islands: functional, weather-resistant, yet polished enough for the boardroom.
Coming alongside the 2 Way Working Jacket is the Aircore Canvas Type 1 Jacket – a single-breast pocketed button-up jacket that has been modelled on a vintage Type 1 Jacket. The beauty of this piece lies within its Aircore construction, which provides quick-drying properties to classic cotton canvas.
But the obvious standout item from the collection, in our big coat-obsessed minds, has to be the Natural Dye Hunting Jacket. This is a thing of sheer beauty. Crafted from a Japanese nylon-PU blend that’s been naturally dyed for a rich, lived-in patina, it’s finished with a plush moleskin collar and (true to Works and Days form) an abundance of weighty, practical pockets.
The campaign itself has been shot in Paris with David Hellqvist behind the lens, who has effortlessly captured just how versatile all this is. City streets, countryside walks, abandoned buildings, whatever. Works and Days AW25 serves as a reminder to stop overthinking outfits and get on with life in clothes that work just as their supposed to.
The AW25 collection is now available from Works and Days.
