Gramicci join Merrell for collab bursting with ’90s nostalgia

Say what you want about Gramicci collaborations, but when it comes to footwear, they do not miss. Back in 2024, the brand joined forces with KEEN for an extra hairy rendition of the Zionic. Then, in April of this year, they recreated that same magic with a hemp iteration of the Newport sandal. Both were excellent. Both have had us hungry for more ever since.

And now, at long last, our prayers have been answered. This time, Gramicci has partnered with none other than Merrell. That’s right. A total synergy between two brands with unique perspectives on the outdoors and a shared love for ’90s nostalgia. It’s a big one.

Gramicci weren’t born yesterday. They know that if you’re doing a Merrell collab, you do it via the most iconic silhouette of all, the Moab. So that’s exactly what they’ve done, only with a few minor, very Gramicci tweaks.

Firstly, the brand has lifted the web upper from Merrell’s Siren model, and placed it right on top of the Moab 2 midsole. We’re not entirely sure of the technical advantages of this, but visually, it looks fantastic.

This upper has then been cast in two standout colourways, Dark Earth and Citron. The first being a combination of brown hues, with subtle fuchsia detailing and the latter resembling the shade of a tennis ball. It’s one of those rare occasions when neither colourway outshines the other, both are top tier, and in an ideal world, you’d have both in your rotation.

For the campaign visuals, Gramicci and Merrell have leaned heavily into that ’90s nostalgia we mentioned earlier. Grainy images that look as if they’ve fallen out of an REI catalogue from the turn of the century. Once again showing that they know their stuff, Gramicci has shot the Moab on foot of a mountain biker. Anyone who rode through the ’90s will remember the Moab for its unbeatable grip on muddy pedals and resilience against repeatedly smashing into a steel frame – cementing its status as a mountain biking classic.

As we said at the start, Gramicci’s footwear collabs rarely miss – and this Merrell one’s no exception. If anything, it’s raised the bar even higher. Arriving just in time for winter, this take on the Moab is built for it all: hiking, scrambling, or flying down singletrack on your dad’s old mountain bike – whatever you’re into, this collab is not one to be missed.

The Merrell Moab 2 Siren x Gramicci will be available from October 24, 2025, on Merrell.com,
Gramicci.com, and select global retailers.
