Acid Running are back on our radar with their Transcendent Runner collection.
Drawing on the ‘Absolute’ philosophy of the British Idealist FH Bradley (1846-1924), this range is inspired by the rejection of the notion that the world is a collection of independent entities, but instead an interconnected system of realities containing time and space, body and mind.
“Our belief is that a runner can inhabit two worlds at once, and in moments of clarity, through the rawness of the sport, can transcend the boundaries between the physical world and their inner reality,” says founder Oliver Powe. “When this clarity dissipates and the run ends, the boundary re-emerges, but the runner returns with a knowledge that an unrivalled freedom of ‘being’ can be experienced.”
In this collection the Light Up Your Lungs graphic T-shirt has been designed by in-house Acid designer Karen Shek, subverting the symbolism between popular vices and the willingness of the runner to suffer. Acid Running will also be releasing a 1 of 1 Silver Lighter hand engraved in London with the skeletal hare from this artwork.
The T-shirt is available in pink and graphite and priced at £65.
