Palace Skateboards link with Schott NYC for standout collaboration

You’ve definitely seen that Instagram trend where everyone’s getting misty-eyed about 2016 – romanticising overnight queues in the freezing cold for streetwear drops, god-awful Comme des Garçons Converse, and those BAPE camo shark hoodies your nan could never quite understand.

Well, it seems Palace have been feeling the nostalgia too. Because they’ve tapped straight back into the era when they had everyone in a chokehold – a time when every other week brought an absurdly good collaboration – and channelled that same energy into a standout link-up with Schott NYC.

We’d like to just say, the difference between most of the madness in 2016, and what Palace were doing at the time is that the British skate brand’s gear still genuinely holds up. You wouldn’t look out of place wearing it today, and that’s all down to the brand’s authenticity – something they’ve kept right at the centre of this Schott collab.

The release consists of three items – a black CWU bomber jacket cut in an all-important ’90s fit, a super-toasty looking bonded fleece hoodie, and a graphic waffle tee to top things off. Each product looks as if it could have cameod in The Wire – baggy fits, in your face branding and a totally monochrome colour palette (apart from the beautiful orange lining on the bomber).

And in true Palace fashion, the crew headed out to the streets of NYC to grab a few clips in some of the city’s most iconic spots.

The whole collaboration is vintage Palace at its best – loud, unapologetic and truly providing a flavour of what both brands are about. For now, we’ll leave you with Palace’s description of the collab, and the campaign visuals (which are also very good):
